I use File Manager on the phone. Even though it is slower than exploring the device through ActiveSync the reason I use File Manager is because of the stubborn icons that Sprint put in the Start Menu can't be dealt with using Windows Explorer.
- Open File Manager on your phone. Press Menu then Options. Uncheck the checkboxes next to Hide Hidden Files and Hide System Files. Press Done.
- Navigate to \Windows\Start Menu.
- Highlight an icon you wish to delete. Press Menu, File and then Delete. If it does not want to let you delete it then keep reading.
- With the icon still highlighted press Menu then Properties. Scroll down to the Attributes section and uncheck the checkboxes next to Read-Only and System. Press Done.
- Try to delete the icon again.
