Download and install the correct PHM Registry Editor.- Using your phone browse to http://www.phm.lu/products/Smartphone/RegEdit/.
- Click the link, Download PHM Registry Editor : Smartphone Edition.
- Accept the license agreement.
- Change the Package Selection to Smartphone 2002, 2003 (ARM/PXA). Even though 2002 and 2003 are older versions of Windows Mobile PHM Registry Editor will work for Windows Mobile 5.
- Download.
- Choose Yes.
- Once downloaded choose a location to install. I usually install programs on my Storage Card.
- Press Install.
- Choose OK when given the dreaded "The program you have installed may not display properly..." screen.
- Press Done.
Running PHM Registry Editor and changing the suggested value.- Press Start then PHM Registry Editor.
- Press up and down on the D-Pad to change the key or value selection. Use the center select button to open a key or value.
- Scroll down and open HKEY_LOCAL_MAC...
- Scroll down and open Security then Policies then Policies (again).
- Use the left soft key to switch from keys to values.
- Scroll down and open 000001023.
- Select Value Data.
- Change the value to 1.
- Press Done.
- Press the back button until you are all the way back to the Start Menu.
Soft reset (cycle the power) your phone for the change to take effect.
