I recently got my Q and already had my Pharos Bluetooth dock and tried to sync it with my Q, but I only have four different types of docking for the phone. Hands free, personal network, stereo headset and keyboard input. I've tried pairing with all of them, but it doesn't recgonize them with what it supports. Has anyone else tried to pair a bluetooth gps receive with their q? What do I need to do?
1 Turn on the GPS.
2 If it's not on already, turn on the Q.
3 Turn on Bluetooth on the Q. (Start -> Bluetooth -> Bluetooth Manager -> Settings -> Set to "Bluetooth ON")
4 While in the Settings Menu, hit the Right soft key (Menu), select
"Paired Devices"
5 In the Paired Devices screen, hit the Right soft key (Menu), select
"Search for Devices", then while it's searching, hit the Right soft
key (Menu) again and select "Show All Devices". Your Q should find
the BT-GPS. When this happens, select the device.
6 Enter your device's passkey (or PIN)
I have the same issue. i can get motorola q to find it but it never asks for the passkey. i have contacted Pharos and they gave me the same information listed above , but I have yet to get it to sync. Any help would be greatly appreciated....
I just spoke with Verizon teir 2 tech support and they stated that gps bluetooth units are not supported by Verizon. It is verizons way of putting limits and making you buy a phone that works with their vznavigator. The tech support lady said that she would transfer me to the sales department and when she did the sales guy stated that i would have to go into the settings and activate the serial port protocol on the verizon phone. The serial port protocal is what the Pharos BT-II gps unit uses. If anyone has ideas on where I can find this setting to enable it in the registry I would greatly appreciate it.....
