I really wanted to like this case. In the end, I think I will try another case. First, here's what I did like about it:
1. Clear hard plastic screen cover (a huge plus in my book)
2. Sturdy metal (aluminum) case that securely holds the Q in place even if the case opens. I’ve used a silicon cover, holster, and the leather case. I wanted to try something that offered a bit more protection.
3. Easy access to the peripherals- SD card, headphone jack, camera, etc..
4. Available for the Q with the extended battery as well.
Unfortunately that’s where the love stops. Here's what I did not like:
1. The belt clip broke within a few days of getting it. The plastic piece that connects the belt clip to the phone snapped cleanly in half when my Q got stuck on something, sending my Q crashing to the floor.
2. The design of the case makes it hard to press some buttons: notably, the soft keys and some of the keys on the left (Q, A, Shift). They seem to be too close to the edge of the case making it awkward to press (even with someone like me with thin fingers). Because it fits so tight, there is no way to shift the Q in any direction to make it more accessible.
Don't get me wrong, with a few tweaks, this case does have potential. Overall it is a sturdy case (my Q is still in it until I find a replacement). However those two glaring faults and the $29.00 price tag has left me a little disappointed.
To each their own, I've done the silicone case, leather case, holster, etc.
Right now I have a BoxWave Crystal Case which I am loving.
Only two downsides:
--the case is so strong that getting the cover off to pull the battery isn't easy.
--it does scratch up, but i'd rather it scratch up than my Q. I intend to buy a few more for replacement when the one I'm using becomes too dinged up.
