Motorola H9 MiniBlue

Received an email from mobilecityonline.com yesterday announcing this. Appears to be the same as the previously discussed H5 MiniBlue. Is it possible they've changed the name to avoid confusion with the H5 counterfeits that are out there? Any thoughts? I'm seriously thinking of ordering one.

the H9 is an upgrade to the H5 according to the moto rep i spoke to back in January. He said H5 was available only in Europe so maybe H9 is Europe only...

You can purchase the H9 through the links provided in the first post. It is an interesting headset, but I have concerns about the design. I used to have a Sybersay Earlite 540, which was the same basic concept--the mic was on top of the ear. It was definitely one of the most comfortable headsets I ever owned, as it was easy to forget it was even on your head, but the mic quality was poor. It doesn't matter how much digital magic they throw into the microphone technology, you are still projecting your voice forward when you speak, and the mic is on the ear. So I'd need some convincing first. I'd want to see a whole lot of positive reviews before I purchased an H9.

Actually, on the H5/H9, if you read up on it and the technology used, there is no external microphone. It picks up your voice internally, thru the ear canal. This is intended to aid in reducing background noise. Most reviews I have read have been very favorable.
