Desktop Chargers?

A couple of guys on ebay are selling chargers that charge the battery off the phone, in addition to "oem" batteries. They're about $15 for the charger and a battery.

Opinions? Safe to put my battery onto that charger and then safe to put that battery back onto my phone?

Pete

No, it's just a charger for the battery. Your spare battery (which comes with the charger) is charging without having to be inside the phone.

I have seen those as well on eBay. I would avoid them. The OEM charger from Motorola also has a dock for a spare battery, so I would go that route. Lithium ion batteries are simply not cheap, so I would be very suspicious of a battery/charger combo that costs only $15. The original Motorola battery is rated at 1130 mAh and a lot of the cheap aftermarket crap is only around 800 mAh, and battery power is not something you want to skimp on with the Q. Best to stick with the OEM stuff.

I was in Houston earlier this week and I didn't take my wall charger with me. I had my car charger but once I got to Houston I didn't spend that much time in my car so I bought one of those things that charges the phone with AA bateries. It worked really well. I don't know how often I'll have to change batteries.

I have a Doubletalk charger, which is quite handy for someone forgetful like myself. It is a car charger and a wall charger in one unit. So I leave it in my car, and if I get somewhere and need to charge my Q I just take it out of my car and plug it into the wall. I always have it with me since it is my car charger.
