I received my rubberized case and leather holster late last week so I thought I would post a quick review. Over all its "ok". I would give it 3-4 stars if rating it on the 5-star scale. Nothing special or perfect but it will work for now. I was a little disappointed in the quality and fit for the price, both with the holster and the case. I too have had the issues getting it to fit closed exactly right. Sometimes it seems to go together perfect and other times I can't get that last clip to snap shut. It seems to have alot to do with what order I try to clip them shut in. I do seem to have better luck if I place the phone in the front cover and clip the back on. I have the Sprint gray rubberized version of the Q.
The general holster build quality is excellent. It looks like it will stand up to some serious use. The just holster doesn't seem like it was made only for the Q. The over all shape doesn't really conform to the Q and the leather is very stiff. I'm hoping that it will soften up and loosen up a bit after I wear it a while. It makes my Q about the same size as my PPC6700 when it's on my waist, which is a little disappointing. The phone becomes about 5 mm larger on each side and about 3 times as thick when it's in the holster. Also it is worth noting that you can still very easily hit buttons on the Q while it is in the case and the holster. A keylocker is a must.
I too have the case and have the same problem with the fit. I had to take it off one time and put snapped it back, it would not snap in correctly so I forced it and broke part of the clip. It still works though, I just have to snap it a certain way. Like you said, its not perfect but it works. I have seen other cases and the snaps are not flush to the case so its sticking out. This design the snap is in the inside not outside so it is flush all around. I rate it 3 1/2 out of 5...The price is a killer...
Well, just to report...I am down to 4 snaps from a total of 6 on my Seidio rubberized cover. It still works but not 100%, its loose but it still holding on for dear life. This is a product of taking it apart and snapping it back together like 4-5 times because I have to take the battery out to reset my Q. It's only a matter of time and I am not about to buy another one.
I have the Cellet hard rubberized case and the fasteners are breaking off of it too. Also the rubberized coating is peeling off in places. ... Just in case you were thinking of trying that one to replace the Seido.
Me again...just broke one more clip, now I am left with 3. I took the whole thing off because It would not stay together anymore. I come home and put the phone on the coffee table and then *poof*..it comes apart. I am in a hunt for a new case. A rubberized one preferably and not quite as expensive as the seidio. Syndil, noted. Maybe I will just get one of those cheap one's that has the fasteners stick out. Yep its bulkier than the seidio but it is a tank. Peace!!!...
