I need some simple headphones for my Q.
I dont have enough money for those nice bluetooth ones so wires arent a problem.
Does the plug REALLY have to have 3 black rings on them or does ANY 2.5mm plug work?
If you are using a monaural headset any standard 2.5mm cellphone headset will work. You only need to worry about the three rings if you are using a stereo headset.
know any specific headphones i should look at?

i found one but doesnt show the picture of the plug.

Just make sure it is a stereo headset that is made specifically for cellphones, which means that it includes a microphone. If it doesn't include a microphone then it is just a regular pair of headphones made for an MP3 player or something and will not have the three rings. You can usually find the Jabra stereo headsets at local electronics shops for not much cash.
I recently just purchased headphones for my Q. I found them on the Verizon Wireless website. They are made by Sony. Very comfortable and have a very long cord for multiple uses. Check them out. I'm satisfied. Cost was about $22.00.
No the minibuds are just for MP3 players. I know they come up when you search for stuff for the Q but if you try them they will not work properly. You need the Dual Handsfree Stereo Headset instead. It's only a few bucks more.
