will one of the new 4GB mini SD cards work with the Q?

If no, what are the limitations & how can they be raised or fixed?? maybe firmware update??

Thanks!

yes the new 4gb cards will work and the q is already set to read cards thats high..so i dont forsee any problems with the new 4 gig cards. Its just like switching out a 40 gig hd to a 100 gig hd in a regular pc..your pc will just read it higher

If you try a 4GB let us know. An article I saw stipulates that 4GB needs Fat32, and the standard SD slots don't support 4GB.

We won't know for sure until someone tries though.

Have you contacted Motorola to see if they have any firmware updates?
Maybe look around on their website or contact customer service??

I had to do this on a Nikon Coolpix 990 camera that used Compact Flash a couple years ago.

Keep us posted nute64...
thanks!!!

Spoke with Motorola tech support and the largest memory card the Q supports is the 2 GB Mini SD. DO NOT BUY A 4GB Mini SDHC it wont work.

There is a user over at QUsers that appears to have a working Samsung 4GB miniSd card on his Q. Check out this thread > 4GB mini SD?

This is the eBay item # 270063545422 that is supposed to be the 4GB mini sd card that works in the Q. Go to e-bay and type in this number in the search box and it will come up. No promises but I think I may try it. So I'll let you all know.
