Question Having problems loading data onto my SD card while in the Q

I seem to be having a hard time getting my Q to load data onto my Mini SD card (1GB) while it's in my Q. It works fine with a card reader but locks up when I use the cable with the card in the Q. Any suggestions?

try changing this setting. under settings goto connections and goto usb to pc and try to toggle the advanced network and restart your q. that may be a problem. let us know.

hmm. my only other thought is are you using windows explorer to select the files you want and the explore button in active sync? i can't transfer from the active sync explore to itself. so maybe using windows explorer will help with you also. just it doesnt like to use the same window for me. hopefully someone else can shed some light onto the subject if that fails.

What's odd is that I can transfer fine to the phone memory. So I transferred a file to the phone and then used the phone file manager to move the file from the phone to the SD card. No go there either it locked up. Any chance that my SD card is screwed up? I have a hard time with that only because I can transfer from my card reader and the phone reads data off of the card just fine.

just curious as to the brand of card it is. have you researched a few programs to scan your card for errors and see what they come up with? maybe it is faulty. hmm.. /ponder

if you are running windows xp you will to install activesync 4.5 ... wish i could post links from my Q but there is a topic in the news section with the link to the microsoft website.

next you will need to create a partnership between your Q and pc. with activesync running, just plug the usb cable into your computer and then input your password if you passworded your phone.. if you have connection issues and can not transfer files through explorer.. make sure DUN (dial up networking) is deactivated and/or check start-setting-connections-usb to pc and disable advanced networking.. should click n drag. let me know if you have any questions..

as for the vista os, it comes shipped with WMDC(windows mobile device center), but it is the 'dumbed down' version that allows you to usb transfer things manually with no syncing at all unless you use windows media player which can sync music etc.. to be able to sync ms office and outlook you will need to update windows and download WMDC and it will come with all jazzed up features to sync contacts and whatever else you may want setup...

good luck
