I called ATT for the unlock code and believe it or not, they gave it to me no questions asked. I asked if there were any instructions and they told me the following:
When I get to Europe:
1. Power off the device.
2. Put in the New SIM (European Carrier)
3. Power on the device.
4. Then phone will ask for the SIM Unlock code.....Enter It.
Now the phone is unlocked to be used on the European Network.
Is there a way to unlock it to be used on say, T-Mobile here in the states?
They gave you the unlock code so now whenever you put a different carrier's sim chip in it will ask you for the unlock code (make sure you enter it right because you can lock it up if you don't enter it right the first few times).
That's it.
Next time you put any other sim card in, it won't ask you for it anymore. Once it's unlocked, that's it, it's unlocked.
Not sure if the codes are phone specific. In other words, my code may be for my phone only. You can call ATT, tell them that you travel outside the US often and you need the code. They have never told no.
JUST LOOK UP POWER TODAYS FOR WINDOWS MOBILE AND INSTALL ON PCD RUN WHILE PHONE IS CONNECTED AND YOU GET TOTALLY TURN OFF ALL SECURITY RESTRICTION FOR FREE. IT IS CALLED THE SECURITY PROTECTION MANAGER. lOOK AROUND AND YOU WILL FIND IT AND NOT PAY THESE IDIOTS. There is also a couple of programs that you can install in on the phone.
Trying to save you some money and allow full access.
this might be dumb, but if i were to upgrade to windows mobile 6.1 would that lock my phone again? right now i have a q9h from that was for taiwan mobile currently working with t-mobile service.
also, is there a way to check to see what the unlock code is after the phone's been unlocked? i bought mine already unlocked from ebay.
