Since I Received My Q I Have Not Been Able To Connect My Q To My Desktop Or My Laptop. I Installed The Soft Wear And Even Upgraded It To The New Version. No Luck I Have Disabled And Even Removed My Firewalls. No Luck Can Anyone Help Me Connect The Q To A Computer???
I'm also having the same problem, loaded ActiveSync application connected the Q and the ActiveSync application just spin in the taskbar "Connecting" for 20min and counting..
activesync installed on my work computer but it just say connecting and then stops and i get the trobleshoot thing it also tell me something about outlook cuz at work we us lotus and i dont have outlook installed even but im not trying to screw up the setting on that. I was wanna chance my themes and add ringtones someone create a simple loader to do that.
1. Uninstalled ActiveSync 4.2
2. Reinstalled ActiveSync 4.2
3. Performed MasterReset on Motorola Q (Returned to Factory Default)
4. Performed Wireless Sync (to return my data (calender/contacts/appointments etc...)
5. Returned Windows Firewall back to default settings
6. Added ActiveSync programs (4 total) thru firewall again
7. Connected Q to USB port....IP 169.254.2.145 assigned
8. ActiveSync connects! (Sweet)
I have files on my Q which I want to pull off, so doing a hard reset and whiping it out does not fix the problem. There has to be another way to get the sync to work around without uninstalling, reinstalling and resetting everything.
Welcome to HelloMotoQ offwhite! Hard resetting your device is not always the preferred solution and to get around it you could always backup your device. Sprite Backup is fully compatible with the Motorola Q... maybe this is your way out.
