First, you need to have an unblocked phone- or this quite simply will NOT work! Next, you'll need a pretty big storage - the actual program is around 5Mb with the enclosed "WAD" file, so take that into consideration when plonking it on the card with your other stuff!
INSTALLING
1) First - grab the file and unzip it.
2) Copy across the entire DoomSPV folder across the your storage card.
3) Now right-click the file and save it to your PC then ActiveSync it to ...
/IPSM/Windows/Start Menu/Games/
Now reboot your phone (Doom sucks as lot of memory) and go to....
Programs -> Games
Ta-daaarrr!!!!!
ENSURE that the Doom program is in DoomSPV and the WAD file is in DoomSPV\DoomSPV!
Neat, too bad you can't fire weapons or use any of the menus because there's no way to map keys. It's pretty much useless. Fun too look at once though.
this is the rite idea but but this is full working with no glitches at all.
1 go to this site and download doom http://download.com.com/3000-7563-855496.html
2 dowload his copy of doom
3install the copy that you got from the first step
4then use his copy to get the wad file and put it in your phones sd card or in your document.
5restart your phone and it will be fully working flawlessly
You can now start playing Doom on your Smartphone! Here are the keys:
Left Menu - Strafe left or zoom out in map mode
Right Menu - Strafe right or zoom in in map mode
Cursor Keys - Movement (run mode is always turned on)
OK - Shoot
Home - Strafe
Back - Show the game menu
1..7 - Weapon selection
9 - Toggle God mode
* - Shoot
0 - Use (open doors, turn switches)
SEND - Rotate screen. This will also change the cursor keys for better control.
if i hit the shift key and then hit the star, it locks onto shooting and will not stop until ammo is depleted... am i missing something? Is there some setting somewhere that I need to adjust to make it work regularly. I got it to work properly one time. not sure how though. Help please...
Everything runs great. I would say we still have some glitches. I have to run the game at the most extreme levels since I can not open doors. I have to wait for someone to come after me and then kill them and run through the doors. Kind of sucks when no one comes and you have killed everything else. Please help a poor soul figure out why opening doors with "0" doesn't work?
works great if i hit the star key 2 times. only twice! if i hit it a third time, you start shooting and don"t stop until you run out of ammo.... then you start punching non-stop. better to be glitchy then to be squished all skinny screen style
