The Core Pocket Media Player is an open-source media player for Palm OS-based and Windows CE / Windows Mobile-based devices.
**Updated August 2009**
The version included here is the recompiled fixed version that no longer causes crashes and hangups and improves playback on AVI (divx) files.
See this website to obtain the plugins that you may need.
I like the player. But, when I try to exit or "kill" it throught the task manager, it turns my whole screen white and I have to turn the phone off and reboot. I don't thing that is supposed to happen. Is there something wrong with my phone or with the program... does anyone else have this problem?
my fone does the same thing. i must say that i really like the program cause it plays all my videos vs. windows media that doesn't even recognize them.
If you don't want it to crash your phone, use Exit under File menu from tcpmp (it's the last option). You might need the ac3 plug-in to fix the sound. Check http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/0.71/ for ac3.smartphone.0.71.exe Hope this helps.
On a Treo/Palm web page I read a blurb about storing media player directly to SD memory card for "error free" use of program. I'll try again and see if it helps with the white screen when shutting player down.
IF you use this (which I highly recommend over WMP, make sure you get the newest version, which is not this one. go to the forum and search for "TCPMP white screen" there will be link there to get the newest one. It fixed the fading white screen problem for me.
i get the same. does anyone know how to fix this issue.
i downloaded to my pc , then transfered to my micro sd, then tried to open it and said same thing. Then i moved it to activesync folder, tried to open it and said same thing. any help appreciated
I downloaded the first version, got the white screen, then found the updated version 0.72RC1 and it works. Had a bit of problems installing it but got it to work and works fine now. I have the Motorola Q9M

iambarf, try the ffmpeg plugin on the above-mentioned link see if that helps. I haven't tried playing any other types of video on it so I'm not sure if it will help.
I downloaded the *SMARTPHONE* cab link onto my phone and installed it. I then associated the player with .3gp files. That's it. Now all my vids play through TCPMP in full screen without a hiccup!
Why are we talking about PalmTreo Devices and applications on a MOTO-Q website.
Also, if the screen turns white and your Q mobile phone crashes.
(its because its not made for the Q phone)
Uninstall it, and trash the application.
also, this place is JUST for MOTO-Q phones dudes....!!
I would appreacite it if everyone would just post applications ONLY
for the Q-phones.
if you want PALM-TREO, then go to T-mobile website and talk there.....
