Hi sammyn. Welcome to hellomotoq!

I've looked around for information on how Pocket Streets will work on the Q and found that according to Motorola the sofware should work. BUT, I have also heard about problems getting the Q to interact with GPS devices because of certain restrictions slapped onto Bluetooth profiles by Verizon. Apparantly Verizon has disabled the SPP profile in order to get people to buy similar services from them.

Then how do you find a way around it? Well if you live in Canada and go with Telus Mobility (http://www.hellomotoq.com/forums/fro...ighlight=telus) you might be in luck.

Can anybody in Canda with Telus vouch for that?

Otherwise it sucks for us GPS-thirsty people here in the US until the Q is available with other carriers.

Software works, but cannot access GPS device

When I try to "start" the GPS, the following error is displayed: This phone does contain the Microsoft Bluetooth Manager, which is required to connect to a Bluetooth GPS device. The strange thing is that I also downloaded the demo of GPS Tuner (GPS TUNER) and it CAN find my bluetooth GPS device. I have not researched the issue extensively (yet), but it appears like Pocket Streets needs to be updated for the Q.

GPS will work fine (i.e. Mapopolis works like a charm with the Pharos Bluetooth cradle on my Q). I believe Pocket Streets just relies on the said Microsoft Bluetooth Manager to operate (not only a Bluetooth profile issue). We'll see if this is fixed in Pocket Streets 2007 .

Did you have to do anything special to get the slim236 to work? I just got mine today... I got it paired but it shows up in the bluetooth manager with a green question mark, and map4pda can't seem to find it.

I've also tried Pocket Streets with a GPS device. I get the same message. I'm running Pocket Streets 2006, which came with MS Mappoint 2006. It doesn't look like it will work on the Q. But a friend with a Blackjack got it to work right away. Anyone have a registry edit?
