Man, I was working for Motorola Q Support Dept, that's why I know about that tricks on the MotoQ, well, the situation about the hard reset can depend on the version of the motorola q that you have, cause, this was method was disabled for the motoq that is on sale until moto and MS decided to included again in the the "service pack" (available now at www.hellomoto.com/software/update) , but i'm really glad that worked,
I'm ashamed about my old teammates that doesnt know about that (but in the Motorola Costa Rica Contact Center there is people that know more than me ), but that problem could be cause that method was not officially released on the motoq until the service pack!!!!
man, personally, i really like the motoq but i need to be more developed until it was released... but i was a poor 2nd level of support and not a motorola developer....
hey, don't blame "motorola" for not knowing anything about their product, blame the agent that tried to help you out, i say that cause I was a Moto Agent (second level of support)

Thumbs down to Motorola for not knowing anything about their own product.
FYI levels of support in motorola: 1st: Motorola Customer Service (Sales, Repairs and Others) 2nd: Motorola Smartphones, Q, Data Products like MPT and Bluetooth 3rd: Motorola CRO: Customer Resolution Office (they know more that 1st and second and fixes escalation problems, this doesn't apply to MotoQ) 4th: Motorola CAO. Customer Advocacy Office
In Motorola Q: 1st: Service Provider Support Team 2nd: Motorola Data Support (MotoQ Basic) 3rd: Motorola Q Product Specialist (Not including Exchange Server Support) 4th: Motorola Q Product Specialist: They see problems with exchange server and activesync and problems not resolved by the second and third level of support.
Yeah...thanks for the detail. It isn't just a support issue...they documentation on the website, and printed docs received with the phone should have documented this.....
I am having a problem with certain downloads. Like the pac man download on this site. i just got my Q with mobile 5.0 and was wondering if maybe some of the downloads available on this site are for older versions of
moto Q's?
I have a new Sprint MotoQ and the above hard reset command works on it. The Screen is a black background with green letters and it offers you the hard reset option with a yes or no choice.
I was informed by somebody that removing the battery while the phone is still running would work the same as a hard reset. Don't really know if it works, haven't tried it. I doubt it does, but I suppose it may be worth a shot.
