Hi jorios_cr! Do you know how to do a hard reset on the Q (that have the first versions of the Q firmware)?

I've looked everywhere and they only have the one where you turn on the Q by holding the action button and the red button, which doesn't work for the above mentioned Q.

One of my friends is having a problem that might be fixed with a hard reset so this info would be very much appreciated.

well yes... the not-official way to do a hard reset on the cell phone will be pressing the action key and the red key (which is the one to turn on), when you see the verizon logo, release both buttons and press both again until you get the console with 3 options (master reset, debug msg, get UUID and IrDa Debug), it will have a red background and white letters, change the master reset to Enabled and select the last option to perform the hard reset....
this is kinda triky.. but it works... I have MotoQ directly 2 months ago before i was released on the market so I know that is one before the release on the market and that it has the very first software version on the Q
and as far as I know... there is not new version of the SW on the Motorola Q
Model: Q2 / Date Code 1206

Thumbs up

hello, jorios_cr! Thanks for the detailed tip on how to hard reset the Motorola Q. I hope I don't have to use it, but knowing how Windows Mobile can sometimes be buggy, it may come in handy one day!

Thanks also for your kind offer to help all of us Motorola Q users here! Cheers!

Question Hard reset method doesn't work on the Q that I have. :(

Hi,

I have a Motorola Q, S/W: 01.07.05 - 08P and the hard reset method doesn't work for me. I REALLY need a way to get into the phone as it locked up on me this morning and is stuck at the "Verizon Wireless" bootup screen (startup screen, splash screen, whatever.)

You wouldn't happen to know anything about this software version would ya'? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

-Richard

Unhappy

How long have you try???
if this method doesn't work the only way is to take the phone to VZW, they will now how to unlock it, but unfortunely you'll lost all the information on the phone
sorry man...
My S/W is 01.07.05-01P

How to hard reset MotoQ????

Hi,
I have the same problem.
My new MotoQ (S/W: 01.07.05 - 08 P) refuses to boot
(after working for few days).
The verizon logo is displayed forever but nothing else works.

The hard reset trick explained on this page does not work.

What is the official way to hard reset MotoQ phone?

Thank you
John
