There are competitions between Apple and Microsoft for a long long time. Now, not only they are going to compete even more, but they are going to a new platform. It is a platform that most of us have not noticed. Some are using it but rarely, if ever, taking it to consideration.
That is the Mobile Device OS. It is a fierce competition between giant companies and some others are breaking in. This competition is not only between Microsoft and Apple anymore, but there are others out there such as Linux, Symbian and maybe Google.
Why is it that big of a deal? The number of SmartPhone users have been growing higher and higher and it seems likely that it will become one of the standard mediums for many of us. Being "the one" for the medium, that's a lot of reliability. Also a lot of money.
There's no clear winner yet, but Apple did take a good lead with its iPhone. This is the competition to see. One day, it may decide our choices.
