hmm... how is your signal strength? That is a bit odd, have you tried this procedure on another computer?

Let me know anything else that happens!

Did you do a power cycle after updating the registry?

Speed......

I am only getting 1xRTT speeds with this solution. Is there a way to send EVDO speeds to my laptop either overbluetooth or by using USB??

Yeah I did the power cycle specified. Even removed the battery for 20 minutes. Does this only work on Verizon? Because I'm on Telus.

ahh... that might be the problem. I have a Verizon phone so I'm not able to confirm this issue with the Telus Motorola Q. Any other Telus users out there that can't use this hack?

I talked to the VZ people today and they said that they don't/can't offer the $15 a month tether option for laptops even though I would be willing to pay for it (I want to use the Q honestly). Oh well, I guess its just the unlimited data plan until I get booted from VZ ...

Knowing Verizon, I'm sure they will "offer" a tethering plan soon... I mean, what carrier ISN'T in it for the money?
