Palringo Adds Location Info to New Version



Palringo is one of our favorite instant messaging systems out there despite the odd requirement that you create a Palringo-specific account to use it. That new login is looking less burdensome, however, now that Palringo will be bringing live location information to the latest version. They plan to help your friends and family know where you are when you are messaging them, making it easier for meet ups or friend locating. Now when you instant message your boss about being late, you better make sure it’s from your house computer and not your girlfriends.
The app will be getting real specific in regards to the location. It gets all the way down to your suburban track homes and your street levels.You always have the option to turn off the locator, but how much stalking fun could you have with that? Palringo Local is hitting Windows Mobile first and eventually getting rolled out to other platforms (you'll need GPS to get it going, natch). Windows Mobile users that have a current version of Palringo will get an automatic update so keep your eyes peeled. I updated the file on the downloads section on 10/6. I don't think that version includes this feature.

This update is no good for Verizon users.Verizon doesn' have capable GPS.I do have Palringo and the (allmost) latest update.Got rid of an annoying bug that caused my Yahoo ignore list to show up on my yahoo contact list.THAT was annoying because there were about 250 of them.Oveerall..I like Palringo.

There are 2 features I would like to see in Palringo.First,I would like the ability to change the mesage received sound.It's currently built in to the .dll file and cannot be changed.It's way too quiet.Second,the option of being able to add a user to your ignore list.I get so many spam messages in Yahoo it's RIDICULOUS.No block user option.

lol.. yeah, and the PC version is exactly the same. But I do appreciate the fact that it doesn't take up too much resources

Palringo Local works on Windows Mobile, and on Windows PC/laptop. Palringo Local will be available on iPhone, Symbian, Blackberry and Java devices in the coming weeks.
Palringo for Symbian - Now even easier to use!

You can switch between chats (using left hand side button). Now there is no need to switch back to the main screen to select a different chat. This makes it easy to have multiple chats on your mobile.
Just like on the PC, you'll now see your conversations displayed in colour-coded chat bubbles, making it easier to follow conversations
Multiple groups can now be opened in separate tabs, making it easier to switch between them to view the status and location of group members

As long as you are on an unlimited data plan or wifi service, you don't need to pay for your messages as you do with an SMS.
Send Voice Clips (It's the quickest way to travel by phone)

Send a voice message to all your friends around the World. No need to leave voicemails for something urgent. Send a voice clip now, "it's the quickest way to get to the other end of the line" - anywhere in the World.
Push, talk, send. That's all!
And remember, you can set up a group and send a voice clip to everyone at exactly the same time. (As long as you're on an unlimited data plan, it will be much cheaper than an international call or international SMS).
Share Pictures

Capture and share that moment. A picture's louder than words. It's much easier and cheaper than a MMS (Multimedia Messaging). Think about it - one click to capture, one click to send.
