Oh, Moto, say it ain't so. Word on the streets (that'd be the EverythingQ streets) is that the foundering Motorola has given up the ghost on the Q line and replacing it with ... well, that remains to be seen.
EverythingQ is confident in its sources, but this is still unofficial news, so anything's possible. But consider the following: The lackluster Q11 (lackluster as in minor cosmetic changes, no 3G but the addition of WiFi) was released in a few nations but still has yet to be seen in the U.S. The Q9 "Napolean" (pictured above) is still MIA for most people, though EQ does note that it made into a government contract.
So what, if anything, will take the place of the venerable Q? How about the Alexander? (And speaking of the Alexander, that vertical slider idea isn't looking so crazy now, is it?) Or something else entirely?
One thing we do know for certain is that the death of the workhorse Motorola Q line would leave more than a few of us a bit teary eyed. (Listen to Dieter sing its praises in the latest WME podcast as he preps for CES this week). We'll just have to see what's next, and hope for the best for Moto.

It doesn't look good for the Q line, that's for sure.
The new Samsung sch-i770 (or Saga, as Verizon calls it) looks promising.
I did a little reading up on that phone and I'm just not that crazy about it. It's not the best looking phone and I haven't heard that great of reviews about it. The only thing I like about it is the fact that it has a touch screen but a full keypad as well. I just received my Q9m after sending it in for repairs twice. I'm currently looking at the Blackberry Storm and Samsung Omnia. As each day goes by I'm leaning more and more towards the Omnia. I will keep my Q9m as a backup phone in case I decide to add an additional line for business purposes in the future.
If you want to step up to the touchscreen world, the HTC's are the way to go.The HTC Touch Pro is a very good example.Overall it's a killer phone.I just got bummed out because it didn't have a vga display.
The Moto Q series smartphones are quite good. They've had their share of bugs and bad units (especially the old silver Q ).But they've improved greatly. My Q9M has done quite well for the 16 months I've had it.Aside from a major lag issue ..which eventually was figured out after a few months.
People will still continue to by Q phones for at least a couple years.Don't forget about all the used Q's out there also.So there will always be a need for a site like this one for quite awhile
It's just another spontaneous move by Motorola.Lets see where this one goes.
lol.. no problem. I second that the HTC Touch Pro would be my choice too. If this HTC Touch Leak of this year's phones are accurate I'll be ready for my new device come mid-year and I'll go for a device with a keyboard.
