Question Phone doesn't want to do Telstra/NextG

i'm an aussie with a q 9h. i have a telstra nextg sim in my phone, but the phone is sitting on the 2G (edge) network. i've contacted both telstra and motorola with no luck. anyone have any idea why/what i can do about this?

i recently solved this mystery, and thought i'd post it in case someone else is having the same issue.

my 9h will sit on the nextg/3g network in melbourne, indicating that there simply is not a strong enough signal where i live.
