My Q Freezes When Deleting Files from Storage Card? Help - Motorola Q

Hey, whenever I try do delete any kind of file from my storage card my q9h completely locks up. I get the confirm deletion screen, press yes, and then I have to do a hard reboot to use the phone again. Once I reboot the phone (after removing the battery), the file has been deleted. The same thing happens when I try to delete files through the data cable from my computer.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Never heard of this... I have the same Q9h with a 2GB storage card and have never had any probs like this before.

Maybe try doing a master clear, master reset - hard reset. Basically to start fresh and see if you still get those lock ups.

Do you have a card reader for your PC? If so does the card behave correctly when you use it?

Luvr, that's pretty much a final option that I don't plan on entertaining. My Q is too far tweaked to my preferences right now.

mtg, I'll need to grab a SD adapter and give it a try. I'll let you know how it works out.

I did experience the same thing but it was because i was deleting a large file or deleting several files then the Q takes longer.

what about reformatting your sd card. maybe that might work...

no the problem is that when you delete larger files it takes the q longer to register the changes happening and freezes . mine does that when i delete larger files also . card readers work great and do not have the same effect. my sd card came witho one though so i use it instead most of the time
