I have the 9h (Global) with AT&T. I downloaded google maps from Google Maps and it downloaded fine and installed without a hitch. i selected to install in my start menu and when it was done I went to my start menu and found the Google maps program. I then opened it up and what loaded was a map of North & South America (a really zoomed out view) and nowhere to enter an address or anything. There is on the bottom left a "Search" tab and bottom right a "Menu" tab...but no way to click them. They are way to the left and right (above the AT&T emblem - web browser short cut) and (above the letter icon for email, text, etc.) I clicked every single button on this phone and nothing. It's just a useless picture of zoomed out USA, Mexico, and Canada. What the heck am i suppose to do with this? i installed this on the Verizon Q 9m (before I returned it and switched to AT&T) and it worked fine...with this phone this is all i get. I am really confused. Please someone help. After i figure this one out I will have to spin my wheels on the alleged built-in GPS...which I don't see in any of my setting options, etc.
That is what i was thinking, but when i went to Google Maps it doesn't give me an option of different versions. i even went to just Google and searched for map downloads and get the same thing. Plus, how do I remove it?
I got it to work by downloading from my desktop and transfering CAB file via active sync. I then ran the CAB file on my phone and it installed and is now working the way it should. I'm still bewildered at why there was a problem. I simply went to google.com/gmm and downloaded the ONLY file to download. Now I have to spend time figuring out the GPS part.
