Hi All,
I have converted some very small audio files into mp3 (less than 1mb) and have put them onto my Q9h through activesync and media player but they don't show up in my ringtones list. Can anyone help with this issue?
thanks
Never mind, found some help in one of the other threads. Got it working just fine and now I have a spiffy new StarWars theme as my ringer.

first you can have to be connected to your computer through a sync program (win mobile device center, active sync, etc...) then your music files need to be around 300 kb or less, i tried to put a 3 mb song on there and the Q 9h didn't even see it. so use audacity to shrink your sound files down to size. now after your device is connnected to your computer, right click and copy the music file from your computer then (in Windows Moblie Device Center) go into the file management option, then browse the contents of your device, then double click on your device icon, then double click on Application Data folder, then double click on Sounds folder, then just right click and select the paste option. Viola!
and now enjoy your custom ringtones.

Thanks so much.
That was my same prob - file was too large.
I found a reg editor and increased the default file size like one of the posts mentioned.
Or I could have saved time and just shrunk it.
Live and learn.
Thanks again.
Jecka,
well typically i'll just use about 30 seconds or so of whatever song or theme music i want since it is just a ringtone and i don't plan on listening to the whole song before answering the phone... so that said if you'll open the file into audacity, select about 30 seconds of music and trim the rest off then click the edit button then preferences then file formats then change the bit rate to around 32 (seems to work for me) then export the file as mp3 to wherever on your computer. then you know the rest from the above post.
hope this helps.
that does alot thank, i was just trimming it and getting rid of the rest i didnt know what else to do after that i thought that was it... guess the blonde in me came out there .. haha but that does help thank you lets see if it works for me now
do you also know how to get different themes from the pc to the phone. it was easier on the blackberry i had i jsut had to open them up in an email on my phone and do it but i cant seem to do it yet on the q9h do you by chance?
by themes do you mean theme music or visual themes? if its visual themes you're talkin about, sorry can't help there, i haven't yet messed around with that.
its okay.. and thanks so much i believe i got the song as a ringtone. do you know if you can set a certain song like on the other phones for a specific person
