I was reading around on another site and some one posted something very interesting. Can anyone verify this:

After two hours talking with tech support this is what I have learned. If there is the slightest, repeat, slightest interruption on the WiFi connection the phone will default to the Verizon data band with no notification to the user. I'm sure that was designed on purpose. A simple notification that the connection source has change or will change would have been a nice courtesy!
i have opted to have verizon shut off my data plan all together. i purchased a wi fi card and use it. the only issue i have with this is that i cannot receive picture messeges. i am currently working on this issue.

Where did you purchase your wi-fi card? So when verizon shuts off your data plan you can't receive text or picture messages?
I can not receive pic messages either. I have a text/pic plan but no data plan. Verizon states that when you have a smart phone, you have to have a data plan to receive the picture messages. I think that is BS.
On a side note, can you have Verizon turn off data option and purchase a wifi card w/o Verizon charging you anything extra? I am a stay at home mom and can not validate $30 a month data plan to check email/surf the web.
