Can someone explain how the Q9m inadvertently connects to the internet??? I've heard of many occurrences of this happening but I want to know how/what programs cause this?

I've read that ActiveSync can do this.

Okay because I noticed about $40 worth of data on my last bill. That would explain it but at the same time that doesn't make since. Why does ActiveSync use data?
I would suggest you have a talk with the Verizon reps about this. When the phone is sold the data is not turned off unless you specifically ask for a data block. The phone is meant to be sold with a data plan. If you use Instant Messaging, send picture messages, use pop email then you are using data. Verizon utilizes activesync to store backups of your contacts and or to download your pop emails that you may set up from their servers. It is very convenient but if it's active it will check for updates several times throughout the day. I have mine turned off. If you don't have a data plan you are charged by the Megabyte for these items. By the way, I don't know how browsing and downloading using VCAST Music plays into all of this.
I'll do that. Its odd because text messaging was already blocked and everything else that you could block was blocked (SMS, V Cast, etc) but I didn't do the full data block. I guess I need to do that. Thanks!!!
