MMS Settings

Hey guys I have another question. I've had my phone for since the beginning of the year and I'm still figuring stuff out (which is great because that means I'm not getting bored with my Q9m). Well I was looking at the MMS settings and I see the settings for VZW. I also see where you can edit those settings or add additional settings. What would be the purpose of adding additional settings?? Wouldn't it still be through verizon's network or can you use another network.

When you click add it ask for:
Profile Name
MMSC:
Data Connections:
Gateway: WAP 1.0 or WAP 2.0
IP Address:
Port
Encoding:

Can someone explain this to me???

yes those setting are for if you decided to drop verizon and go to sprint then you would be able to keep your same phone and just insert the settings that sprint would give you. I did it several times with the motorola i930 when it was supposed to be set to just nextel. I unlocked it and used it with cingular, suncom, nextel, and t-mobile...
