Q9m test mode

On my old Black Q, I pressed ##*send which took me to the test screen. I used this to check signal strength & help me set up my WILSON Signal Boost amp & antenna. With my Q9m this does not work. Does anyone know how to do this??

I have the settings copied down here somewhere.

Where did you connect that antenna to on the Q? I dont see a port for that.

The MotoQ has no antenna port. I am using an Wilson "SingleBoost" amp model 811210. This unit uses an inductive "patch" held to phone with Velcro. A lot nof reviews rate them very good. The only prob is finding the right location to apply the patch. I did talk to Wilson today, tech advised using an old axcess # which worked. Once setup the original ##* send worked as before. The New # is ##073887* send. then the p/w is 000000, after which reboot the phone & the ##* will work as before.

Once there click "A" Call status, not test mode, this brings up "call status screen" . In the 1st colume under CDMA look at the 3rd # down. Signal is strongest at 50 weakest at 150
In the 1st line the "C" indicates you are on 800 mhz.

So I would assume that 3rd number is signal amp boost? I'm going to check that shortly.See if EVDO signal strength is listed on there.

A patch? Does it work for EVDO? Or just CDMA

Ok..I just checked.Did the ##073887* ...turned test mode on....Exit...you dont have to reboot...now clear the dialer and then type the ##* ..Cal status... for CDMA ..out where I'm currently at .it was around 47 - 56 .and it had an M ...not a C .

For EVDO ..its the 2ND line ...2nd number also.Dont know what first number is. ..2nd number was around the same fluctuations as cdma...it also had a fluctuating -52 etc number next to it.

Just got home from work.CDMA number is around 96 and EVDO around 84. I also noticed that letter next to the CDMA boost number kept changing from an M to an H and then back. This was on the way home.

I need to find a description of what all these different numbers and symbols represent.

This info was from a phone on Verizon. 47 to 56 is very good
No, the 3rd # down, 1st row is the signal strength. I am in a fringe area & recently see no bars (but seldom drop a call) & the # runs between 99 to 107. The lower the # the more sig strength. The wilson tech could not tell me what the info under EVDO means. The "C" under CDMA means you are in an area using 800/894 mhz. I believe the "M" will mean area uses the other freq, 1850/1990 mhz. He did not spec the letters for the other freqs, only 800mhz. My 1st msg said WLSON "Single" , I meant SIGNALBOOST. Tech said I should get typ about a 10 or better drop wit the amp, so once the amp is working I should see a change from around 100 to 90 where I am located. I also am also VERY interested in what all the other info shown tells us.
