Outlook Sync problems - Motorola Q

Hello

I am getting an error when trying to sync my outlook with the Q.

Error: Cannot Sync with outlook because a different profile was previously set up, or the profile is password protected.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to HelloMotoQ Shane! The computer that you are syncing with your Q... is it a shared computer? Did you password protect your Outlook profile or do you have other profiles on your Outlook? Let us know so we can help further!

The computer is not a shared computer and I dont think there should be any other profiles. I have not protected my profile, but am not sure if this might be done by default.

ps. downloaded the hack for USB dial up connection with my laptop....AWESOME!

Shane:

Aren't using Exchange try creating a new partnership. Do the following:

On ActiveSync window on PC, make sure your Motorola Q is not connected to the USB cable or in the cradle.
Go to File>Mobile Device
Select the devices profile sync-name (is the same name as your device)
Go to File>Delete Partnership
Once you connect your Motorola Q to your computer again it should start the Partnership Wizard all over again. Let me know if this works for you.

Everytime I run activesync I cannot get any of my contacts on my phone from outlook. It says that it synched but it didnt HELP please

Hey I am pretty sure I got this licked. Step by step:

1.Make sure Q is unpluged
2.Download>http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx
3.Install WMDC 6.1
4.Restart
5.On your Q go Start>Settings>Connections>USD to PC>then uncheck "Enable advanced network fuctionallity"
6.plug in Q and set up

Hope this works. I havent seen this resolved so if it is sorry for the repeat reply.

P.S. For some reason if the link defaults, just enter WMDC 6.1 in the search bar and click the first item.

Shane's post is over a year old so I doubt he had Vista at the time.

WMDC would not have been an option.

Was popular? It's still popular! An MS OS isn't out of beta untill SP2, IMNHO.
