Just wondering if this happens to other people too.
My Q at times likes to turn itself off randomly...either when I'm using it or just sitting there. Does anyone know if this might be a defect? Also, I just upgrade to the extended battery, so it's not the batteries fault.
I had this same thing happen to me this past weekend. I had it charging and it suddenly powered off. I couldn't get it to power back on until I pulled the battery for a minute and then tried. Haven't had a problem since.
Oh interesting. Well I've tried that before but still did not work for me. Another solution that I thought of was maybe it was my homescreen. I have downloaded some from this forum and used it. I downloaded one the other day and used it... and my phone shut off atleast 5-6 times throughout the day.
I was dumbfounded, and thought...what if I just swtiched back to the normal homescreen that came with the Q. So did today, and so far no random shutdown on my Q. Later I'm gonna swtich back the custom homescreen and see what if it happens again or not.
My unit has been behaving very badly - over the weekend, I just gave it a tap and it shut down. This happened about ten times - to the point where verizon is sending me a new unit.
I am running GoodLink, which seems to be a memory hog. Anyone else experiencing lockups with Good?
I have a "Generation 1" MotoQ and Sprint PCS service. I too, after having it for 8 months started to have random shut downs. I ended up calling Sprint Tech support and they re-set the phone (I didn't lose any personal settings or my contacts.) This helped the random shut downs - which were happening at a rate of 5-7 per day, with no external programs loaded to the Q.
I suggest having this done - it really seemed to help me. The shut downs have completely stopped...so far.
The random alarm going off after I've dismissed and even shut it off for the day, that's a whole other post...
Mine also started doing this Monday. However, I had bought a mem card over the weekend and moved some stuff, added some stuff, and also applied some of the hacks to put email/PIE temp on the mem card so it is not possible to isolate what changes I have made that could be causing this. listening to music today, it is shutting off every 15 minutes give or take a few minutes. I have it plugged in although the batter is fully charged.
I've only owned the Q for a four days and so far it has shutdown and restarted on me once randomly...

My q is totally up to date and only a month old and I have been having all of the issues outlined here, and there seems to be nothing I can do about it. It freezes at an unforgiving rate, I dont recieve text messages till almost 24 hours later, and I am constantly taking it out of my pocket to realize that its completly turned off.
