I'm completely new to the device. Love it as a phone. Am having difficulty, perhaps conceptual, perhaps software -- setting it up for email retrieval.
Can anyone direct me to a good explanation of Verizon's Wireless Sync? How it would work without the computer being left on (and on a Mac).
Does the sync happen in the background? I installed the web server to grab email and it installed a new app on the home screen. But it seems I had to manually select it to sync.
My setup is a home computer running Entourage (on one machine) and Outlook (on the other) -- setting up two phones, two email accounts. And I'm a bit puzzled about how to most efficiently set it up.
Where I am now:
Gmail doesn't work at all (see another message)
Imap account (.Mac) seems to work as expected -- messages downloaded to the Q and left on the .Mac server.
Road Runner (after wasting a lot of time on Gmail) downloads to both devices IF you set Entourage/Outlook to leave email on server. It seems -- am I correct -- that the default setting for the Q is to get email and leave a copy on the server.
