They are left on the web server (and visible in the web mail reader), BUT they do NOT download as unread messages when I then connect with Outlook to get mail from PC.
Send/Receive a second time from the Q. And all three of the previously downloaded emails vanish. Not in deleted items. Nowhere.
Anyone else seeing this? That subsequent send/receives using Gmail/POP deletes previous mails?
Sorry to hear you're having issues with your email. You're not alone... I found this blog that might help you out. Hope this helps and let us know how it goes. oh and welcome to HelloMotoQ!

[EDIT: I realize I didn't link anything... shoot! I'm gonna have to look for that link now]
Gmail was working flawlessly since I got the Q, but in recent days it hasn't been working well...wonder if there is a problem with Verizon or with Gmail.
I had this exact same problem. The fix is stupid, but here it is: in gmail's pop settings page you have to choose "enable only for emails from now on". After that it will work
It seems that the Q absolutely synchronizes with the seerver. As long as no other mail client reads the same mail, they seem to persist both on the server and the Q. I use RCNmail (my broadband carrier) and if i download the same mail to my desktop from the same accout, it dissapears from the Q. I wish i knew how to make a personal folder to safely save e-mails on the Q but I have searched far and wide with no luck. I am not and will never be an outlook user so anything related to "sinking" wont help.
Anyone know of 3rd p app to create new folders? Seems stupid.

Thank you for this! I just replaced a Q for non-technical reasons and couldn't get gmail working. It worked fine on my old Q and I had it set up identically on the new one. I've been searching various forums for a fix and this did it. O' happy day!
Hey, just my 2 cents, but if you browse to gmail.com on your q via internet explorer, you can avoid all these issues, plus gmail allows you to open word documents directly from the browser.

I found somewhere on this forum or a different one that if you type your username like this in the set up for the pop mail: recent:yourusernamehere it fixes it. since i did it i had no problems.
