I'm getting an unusual problem, and although it's similar ro some of the other battery and power issues I've seen it's a little bit different. My batteries appear to charge fine, and everything appears to be working, then in a very short period of time my battery will go from 75-100% to like 5-10%. I took my MotoQ back, and got a new one, but just today, this one seems to have done the same. This morning when I checked it had about 75% power, took it to work, and just around noon, I checked again (after no use) and it was at like 6%. Recharging the batteries seems to work fine, I thought perhaps it was a short in the actual device... now I'm not sure. Anyone had this happen to them, just randomly using like 60% of it's battery in 2 hrs? Anyhow, any help is greatly appreciated.
See if it's always connected in data mode (arrows in the icon on top right of the display, where usually you find the signal icon).
Data connection of Q "sucks" a lot of battery.
honestly keith...there is no reason whether data is connected or not for your battery to go that bad over a course of 2 hours...my arrows are always on and i start my day at 9am...and at around 10pm i still have usually 23% left on my battery...granted i dont use it every second of the day but i average about 2 hours of talk time on it throughout the day with some minor emailing..i would try turning off your Q let it charge on the charger for 2-3 hours this will give it a 100% full charge and see how that works out...many people are mislead because sometime when u charge your phone or Q for like say 25-30 minutes it will read full charge or close to full charge when its not even really close then it will read dead in an hour or 2 or ever sooner....to fully charge any cellphone or pda you want to let it charge for 2-3 hours no more than 4,
see how this works out for you.
This was after a whole night on the charger, my larger battery seems to have fared better. Do you find you need to charge your Moto Q every night then? With light use it went a day and a half before it died, but I was just worried because it seemed to go from like 70% yo 15% quickly. I'm going to continue to keep an eye on it. Thanks for the response though.
