Hello. I just want to say that I'm a total noob to the new Q. As a way to help me acclimate can anybody share some basic qualms with the Q and also how you've gotten around it?
If it's a cab file, you transfer to the Q via ActiveSync. Simply tranfer the file anywhere on the Q using the "Explore" function of ActiveSync, then use file manager on the Q, locate the file, and execute it.
For zip, I'm not as sure. You can try the same method as with .cab, but I don't think the Q has any compression software installed on it (like a Winzip), so your best bet is to unzip the file on your pc then transfer the files over to the Q. I hope this helps

If it is a .zip file most likely you need to unzip on the desktop and run it on the desktop as well. The setup file in the folder should hint to you that it needs to be run on the desktop. If you get an error when running a program on the desktop, then you should copy over to your Motorola Q and run it from there...
My phone unzips most cabs directly...as far as zips go i dont mind sync'n to my desktop or laptop as I rarely need anymore programs then I already have. It's certainly worth the $250 i paid for the GPS and internet and TV and use as an MP3 and DIVX player, ahh and i cant forget the NES emulator and all the games. I'm impressed, bummed you are not....What kind of phone do you have? And what can apps can you run?
