For those dead or brick Moto qs I was able to repair one for a customer. As it turned out the memory maxes out so the phone does not have enough memory to start up properly.
Microsoft smartphones are like their PC's. If you don't maintain them they won't run nicely.

Thee problem isn't just MS. It's the phone manufactures for not installing enough memory in the first place. How can uou expect something with only 25MB AVAILABLE to run properly? The device has 128MB from the factory. Ends up with 51MB after boot, and already 25MB of that is used up. This problem would never have surfaced if they simply would have added another 32MB of RAM.
This is the same reason why I wouldn't touch the Touch Pro first edition. Verizons model lacked sufficient RAM and ran too slow and buggy. Give it enough memory (eg.. Sprint Touch Pro and the New VZ TP2) and VOILA! it runs like butter in a frying pan.
Its funny how the frozen Q problems were lack of memory. That doesn't suprise me....

this is true. Blackberry's have problems with not being able to install additional apps on the storage cards. I guess it's just a matter of time before these things come to fruition. The TP2 seems to be the best step in the right direction as to "geting it right off the bat" for all carriers in a long time. It's a good balance of memory, processor, battery and price. But that took how long? At least HTC kept going whereas Motorola just gave up on the Q.
