Battery drainers

I have already been to Sprint to switch out my phone for a new one because the battery life was approximately 12 hours on mostly standby (maybe a 5 minute call or two throughout the day) and now my new one is almost the same. Today, I had it out at work on my desk, and out of the case, and I noticed that every now and then, without some function happening (like a new text message or anything) the screen will light up, and stay lit for a bit, and then go back to normal. I am sure this doesnt help my battery situation... but I don't know WHAT it is or how to fix it. Does this happen to anyone else? Anyone have any suggestions?

Maybe someone can answer the same question for me...
My battery holds an excellent charge (sometimes 3 or 4 days without recharging, and using it for 1-2 hours a day), but my phone also just "comes to life" for no reason. The funny thing is...it doesn't do this when it's plugged into a wall outlet or the USB cable. I really noticed it yesterday when I was laying in bed, with the phone on my nightstand next to me...it kept lighting up every few minutes, no given interval. I had nothing running, messenger was turned off, and I have my mail settings to only retrieve mail manually. Any ideas?

That Happens To Me All The Time. I Posted The Exact Same Question In The Past. It Transmit Data. Make Sure That You Turn Off Your BT And Your IR If Your Not Using It. Also Download Candelight To Save Some Energy From Your Battery.

Hey Kryer1,

I've got the Q9C, and from what I've read, I shouldn't download Candlelight. I turn my BT off and since the Q9C doesn't have an IR port, it shouldn't be that. BUT, it makes sense, that it may be transmitting data...but what data?? Like I said in my post, I don't download my mail over the air, only via Sync cable. It's like one of those sleeping pill commercials on TV...where the spotlight shines in the womans face while she's trying to sleep...I'm the same way. I need it totally dark to sleep and there goes my wonderful buddy, the Q...lighting up my life, for no reason at all. LOL

I saw this on another forum, and I am trying it out today... it may be the cause of the random lighting coming on because it's trying to send/receive data that doesn't exist...

Honestly, I think it was everythingq.com, but don't remember. If I recall it stated that if you have the Q9 c/h/m you don't need to download Candlelight because the powermanagement issues that plagued WM6 Q's, have been resolved in WM6. I just shut my phone off at night now...this way it wont awake me when it wants to turn on the party lights.

my battery problem was solved... it was the instant messengers that drained the life right out of my phone... one of the features I liked, but I can live without.
