Well stupid, clumsy me dropped my Q tonight and it landed face down, no permanent damage, just a half dozen small scratches on the face. Is there anything I can do about these?
hmm.. that's a tough one. I don't think that expensive cleaning products actually work, I'm very skeptical of those. Someone on another discussion board actually used toothpaste and it seemed to work for them. I wouldn't recommend that but I like the other suggestion which was to take it to a watch repair shop and see if they can buff out the scratches with something they may have there. How can i remove scratches off my cell phone screen? - Yahoo! Answers
I'd definitely suggest getting some screen protectors now though.

Thanks all
Use a small amount of Pledge Lemon Spray with very soft rag like a diaper...works on CD's and motorcycle windshields as well!!
Im not going to recommend a type but if you find a non caustic type of wax (not candle wax it is too hard) you can buff them out. The wax will fill the cracks. I do this with CD/DVDs. Ive heard of doing it with glasses too. Probably why the pledge works Im sure it has some sort of wax like substance to help fill scratches on the surface you use it on. Ive heard of using grease pencils (I think they use a wax even though the name says grease) but havent tried that yet either.
