I have had my motoq since december, and have noticed that the backlight never goes off. I am blind, so it doesn't bother me, but my wife commented that it is always on, and the battery life is aweful because of it. I took it into my verizon store where I got it, and the tech there tried setting the timeout to 5 seconds under settings home screen, but that didn't help.
This is my second motoq (the first had a bad data port, so wouldn't charge properly).
Is there anything else I should try, or is this just a bad choice for a phone.
I chose it because it was the only phone from verizon that had a screen reader on it (last june), the HTC ozone has the screenreader now, but that would require my upgrading to a data plan for an additional $30/month, so would prefer no to have to do that quite yet.
enable the smart backlight and use the settings i gave you. that should help. if not you might want to back up your contacts & other things and do a master reset to see if that helps.
