animated homescreens

does anyone know how to make an animated home screen? using a gif maybe, or something like the matrix code? but obviously on the Q's screen size?

Yeah i tried to use a .Gif as my homescreen. It doesnt work. I even resized your picture above to 320x240 and it still didnt work.. sorry bud!

There is a key in the registry that mentions animate

hkey_local_machine\system\gwe

its default is 0 on my Q
I haven't tried changing it but will repost results

The photo viewer on the phone doesnt even open it. It has to be opened by Internet Explorer. So yeah..

hmmm...so why can a normal phone be capable of having videos as wallpaper even ringtones, but not the Q? i know of the audiovox XV6700 being able to have video as a ringtone, so why not on a Q?

Yeah the Q can only play the Video sounds not the video footage.. that sucks...but not really.

There is a program called beetle animation for smart phones but it costs money I think 14.99. Love how we get pushed into buying applications that should already be on the phones like a real alarm.

This site was listed in the everythingq forum that has a couple animated screens. I belive they were made for a blackjack but I dl'ed both of them and they work. Looks like the q can handle animated HS's
