Home screen layout

Are there any home screen layouts available for download that let you keep a personal picture as the background but let you change the icon layouts. i.e. like the windows default with a personal pic. Any suggestions or help would be really appreciated?

You can use any background picture with any homescreen layout. Just go into the homescreen settings and change the background from "default" to whatever you want.

However some layouts require a special background to display properly, like the IQV2 layout. If you change the background on that one it won't look right at all.

I don't think there are any more layouts from MS other than the ones that came on the phone. Not sure why you think you need to use one from MS. Just find one you like and use it. You can change the background on any of them.

Well, most of the ones you download, once you change the background picture, they do not look right. Thats why I asked about more from MS. They just lay the background them over the picture you choose.

OK I see what you're getting at now. Have you tried modding one of the defualt layouts on your own? If you want to stick with the standard list-type layout, it's fairly easy to move the individual components around in the XML file. Do you have an idea of what you would like your home screen to look like? I might be able to help.

I don't have the vzw full layout (I have a Sprint phone) so I don't know what size to make them. If you can attach the vzw full layout .xml file to the forums (or just paste the contents) I can modify it for you.

Here you go... unzip the XML file and put it in your Application Data/Home folder on your Q.
