DVD on Moto Q

Ok I was searching for this for awhile last night and by the time I found something I was too tired to post anything about it. I found some software that will convert a dvd movie into a .3gpp file format. The moto q can read these type of video files. Go to a search engine and type in "dvd to 3gp converter" and you should get results. The one that I found and used last night was on Free Software Downloads and Software Reviews - Download.com and it was only a trial version. It worked well. The one that i used was called Okoker DVD to 3gp converter. After the conversion all you have to do then is run ActiveSync and put the file on your phone and your done. Just sit back and relax and watch your movie. I would recommend using a storage card for these files and they will be big files.

well... i hate 3gp...
are you playing this in wmp? or in TCMP?
if tcmp, its better, but still, the picture is distorted. What i do is this: DWL dvd decreptor (or h/e you spell it) and videora (an ipod software but it rips to mp4) rip the dvd to ifo and than ifo to mp4. there is a pretty good tut online for it. or try HOWTO Rip DVD Movies To Your iPod Using Free Software
its also for ipod but mp4 so it should work.

I'm viewing it with wmp. Its not bad. I was trying to get something started with dvd movie watching on this site and it sounds like i made ya mad about it. I'm still trying to get used to this q. So far I'm happy with it and have no complaints yet.

i apologize if you thought that. What i meant by this was this: when you play a 3gp file in wmp, does it play in full screen or in an iddy biddy square? sorry if you took offense

Its Cool dude don't worry about it. With the converter that I used you can set it up to be full screen on the q. You just have to remember to change that setting before you start ripping it.

Another way is to rip the DVD to an ISO with Nero or some other ripper/burner.

Then Use handbrake to convert to MP4. Still working the kinks out (ACC sound doesn't play on the Q in WMP, and TCMP wrecked havoc on my Q.)

So far If I use handbrake to rip to MP4, even with ACC or MP3 audio I get no sound, but great picture.

Anything else I've seen anyone recommend here is not free.

Any free converters anyone would recommend?
