I have searched near and far, to no avail. I am looking for an automatic phone lock to prevent any unwanted calls being made when it is not being used. It is a pain in the butt to have to hold the home button, then scroll down to lock keys option every time.
Yes, jonny709, you can use the device lock feature that comes with the Q.
However, if you lose or forget the pin/password, you are hosed(master reset time)
Some of us just want it to lock with no human interaction, and no passwords.
For those of you who want to learn more on how to use the Q autolock features...
Lock & Unlock Phone
You can manually lock your phone to keep others from using it.
Press and hold the home key (). The Quick List displays.
Highlight and select Device Lock.
In Lock phone after, select the amount of time for the phone to be inactive before automatically locking.
Enter and confirm your password.
Press Done.
To unlock the phone, press Unlock. When the unlock screen displays, enter your password and press Unlock.
WARNING:Be certain to remember your password. Without your password, your phone will need to be reset at the place of purchase, which will result in the loss of your personalized settings and all content stored in phone memory.
Note: You can make emergency calls on a locked phone. A locked phone still rings or vibrates for incoming calls or messages, but you DO NOT need to unlock it to answer a call.
To enable an automatic phone lock, where your phone automatically locks after a specified time, use auto phone lock. Find it: On the Home Screen, press Start > Settings > Security > Enable Phone Lock
[edit] Lock & Unlock Keypad
Press and hold the home key (). When the Quick List displays, highlight and select Key Lock. Once the keypad is locked, the Left Soft Key label changes to Unlock.
Tip: To quickly lock the keypad press the home key () and then the space bar.
To unlock the phone, press Unlock. When the unlock screen displays, press the key.
