I actually dont want to turn it off. I'm looking for a way to use it (turn it on). For instance, when you call a phone number, you dont need a loud beep to indicate that the call went through, a faint click would be fine.
Thanks for the reply.

i have found that when you navigate to HKCU/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/MEDIAPLAYER/PREFERENCES, there is a editable string named volume. i do know that this is windows media player and am wondering if i were to increase the # set to the string volume(which is at 62274 normally) if that would increase the max volume? basically if i make it go up will it change the max volume of windows media player in an upward fasion.

Welcome to the forums!

SMS messages are limited to 160 characters by design.

Text are limited to 160 characters a piece.More than that and it splits it up into multiple messages.Enhanced text messaging isn't supported on PPC/SP's.MMS text has a limit of 1500 characters. But I've changed mine to 2000.

I just bought the Moto Q9h Activesync 4.5 and updated the OS to 6.1. The PC is XP pro w/sp2

Can someone please reccommend a regeditor, (free if possible)? I'd like to make some of the great changes you guys have made on your phones to mine. I've made a few small reg changes in my PC in the past but being new the Q I'm not sure which prog will work and axactly how to get it into the phone.

After having the Q9h for a little over a week I began to add ring tones, made from our CD collection, but the phone cut the 1st 20 sec ring tone clip in half so I stopped to figure out why.

Right now I'd like to change the ringtone file size limit on my phone, I've looked at PHM and total Commander but there are no clear details on whether they are for WM6.1 and no instructions on how to get them into the phone.
I need help!
Please and thankyou for any and all help.
G.

So i have 2 questions.

1) I was wondering if there was any way to increase the number of characters able to be recieved in a text message. The phone automatically splits up messages over 160 characters, but when I try and receive a message over that amount, i only get the first half, and get a message saying something like "the preceeding message was modified......"

2) I have wireless sync setup on my phone for push email. I was wondering if there was a way to have the phone only display the two little arrows only when data is actually being transferred, and not while it's in an "idle" state. I'd prefer that it display the regular "service" sybmol when in an idle data state, and have it show the data transfer (the two little arrows) only when data is being transferred.

I think i've seen a hack referring to my second question before a long time ago, however i can't seem to find it again.

Hope someone can help!

Welcome to the forums!

#1 - 160 characters is the standard. Any device that supported over 160 characters was not following the standard.

#2 - The two arrows indicate that you have an IP address. They do not indicate the use of data. When the location symbol (looks like a crosshair in a circle) turns into a PDA then you are using data.
