Homescreen/Themes Suggestions Anybody?

Hello hellomotoq peeps! (hahah...okay maybe it wasn't that funny )

I've been attempting making themes for the motorola Q (I just put up the Superman theme last week and am waiting for a Spidey 3 theme I just put up today to be approved). Practice makes perfect (or maybe better than before) right?

Recently I got a Honda Fit (http://automobiles.honda.com/models/...?ModelName=Fit) and am thinking about making that my next theme.

Anybody got any other ideas they'd like for me to make a theme of? I can't say that I'll do it for sure, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Information on how to create themes...

Where can I get information on how to create my own themes? I'd like to learn how to configure and customize plugins, fonts, etc.

Thanks.

One option is for you to download any of the XML files for the themes from hellomotoq's download themes section and adjusting the different settings yourself. Of course this is easier if you've worked with XML or even some HTML (it helps you guess where to put what).

Here's what I do:
  1. Create a background for the homescreen (320 x 240 at 96 ppi), making sure all the contents I want to show up will fit on top of it and display nicely. Photoshop & Illustrator are my tools.
  2. Edit the XML file (author, bgimage, x & y coordinates, and all that good stuff in there) to gimme what I want. Make sure ".home" is at the end of the file name (ie, "Spidey3.home"). w3schools has a thorough XML tutorial (although I never used that tutorial...w3schools is pretty good for learning web development). I have some basic experience with html, so my knowledge of XML grew as i made these themes via trial and error.
  3. Load the XML file and the jpg into your "Home" folder.
  4. Now you can start using it!
If you zip up the XML file and jpg you can upload it for sharing on this site. For screenshots I used Tim's tutorial.

Have fun!

Hey solbadguy...those themes look solid!

How about something with a bit of a feminine touch, eh?

If you PM me and get me some hellomotoQ files of images/logos/etc., I might be able to make some for you. This site is great and I'd love to contribute!

FYI, I'll be on vacation for a few weeks so I won't be able to work on themes for a couple of weeks.

Does anybody out there wanna give it a shot?
