Some new themes for everyone : )

Hey guys and gals. I recently had become really frustrated with a small selection of homescreens for our Q's and got my learning on for some XML. So from this knowledge I have made a number of homescreens. I imagine I can take requests as well. Just make sure to post your pic if you want sometihing done. These following homescreens use PhotoDialer 4.0 and Fizz Weather plugins. I can take these out on request. Im not sure if they will work on a phone without the plugins installed, I think they still will. I have put all files in a .zip file. Anyway sharing the wealth!

Themes Included

- Dark Art
- Eye
- Cobra
- BMW Race
- BMW Treff
- BMW Hood
- Cannabis

Attached Files
File Type: zip Q Walls.zip (161.5 KB, 45 views)

Thanks for sharing!

I started to learn xml but I got frustrated real fast because I'm real particular and I couldn't get things to look exactly the way I wanted them to. The tutorial on MoDaCo was helpful but what I really need is a complete list of what can be called out in the <scheme> section. Have you seen something like this?

Thumbs up

Ya that tutorial is truly one of the best out there. I went to college for Graphic Design a couple of years ago and had learned some HTML in the process. I sorta put that knowledge to work with my Photoshop experience and now everyday is a homescreen making bonanza . For those of you out there scared to try buliding your own, DONT BE! Get an XML editor and start looking and studying the code. I use Microsft XML Notepad 2007, its an excellent editor and breaks things from tree view to a straight code view. Anyway I included a to Snapfile if you want to check it out. W411y's tutorial does rock though! Much love to W411y!

Wow, these look great, dre4moto! It makes me want to learn XML, too!

EDIT:

I'm taking a look at the tutorial right now and it's a lot easier than I thought. It's like a stripped down version html. This is great, I'm gonna fire up Photoshop as soon as I finish learning this new toy!

Believe me a lot can be said for taking apart things and figuring it out. Its the people who dont believe in themself that they can that dont succeed. Anyways have fun learning!

The main thing I need help with is getting the background image to be fixed. I would like to use a background that is taller than it needs to be so that when I have to scroll down the background doesn't follow. For example, if I draw a box around the clock plug-in, I don't want that box scrolling down and being around some other plug-in.

I just got a couple guides to xml so im gonna do a bit of research on how to keep the the background constant on scrolling. I didnt understand your example though "For example, if I draw a box around the clock plug-in, I don't want that box scrolling down and being around some other plug-in." Probably just me reading it wrong, tired and just got home from work. Microsoft also has a very good page about developing homescreens and xml for windows mobile based devices like ours. I just dont remember where the link was....

Let's say I make my clock plug-in font size larger and I create my own home screen background and in my image I make a box that goes around the clock plug-in to make it stand out. Now let's say I miss a call and get a voicemail. Two new plug-ins that were hidden now appear on my homescreen. Granted they are below the clock but now I have to scroll down to see all of my homescreen. As I scroll the image scrolls with me and now the box I created to go around the clock is in the middle of the new messages plug-in and looks like crap. That's what I'm talking about. How do I get the home screen image to stay put?
