Can Someone tell me how to make themes myself for the Q!

Hey I got a lot of sweet pics in my library, and was wondering if someone could help me with making themes for the Q! I would most assuredly share any new themes I make with the group. Thanks and sweet site guys and gals!

The best way to get started with making anything, is to open up existing ones and check them out and see how they work. Try it

I have also checked into this. Even spent the last 2 hours creating an XML document from scratch and making my background image. Unfortunately, something wasn't converted to Q terms and I can't get the XML to show up in the Home Screen view. I altered everything (as far as I know) to Q resolution and still haven't come up with anything. Do I have to alter the registry to allow more themes or something? In the interest of making sure it's not just a stupid coding problem, I'll include the code and background image in the event someone has the time and knowledge to actually read it.

FYI - The filename stands for HomeScreenBeta1

There are some unclosed tags in your XML. I recommend XML Marker for editing home screens.

XML Marker - Free XML Editor- Easily browse and edit XML files.

Holy crap, a genuinely helpful person? Thank you for the tip, I appreciate it. I've never studied XML and my HTML is extremely rusty. I typed up a cheat sheet for the XML theme COLOR_... codes but there are some things I'm interested in that I wonder if you might be able to help me understand a bit further.

One is the infamous Tasks. I would LOVE for those to be displayed on my Today screen but have yet to figure it out. I hope WM6 has some improvements on the Tasks section. It should be more like the PC Outlook visual.

Is there a way to manipulate plug-ins such as the Carrier plug-in that says "Home Service" all the time. I like some aspects of this because at one click I can go in and turn the phone and bluetooth off but I don't think it's just a "general" plug-in. There has to be some manipulation there. Maybe I should just try and figure out which code it is in the respective theme and just copy it over to one that I hope I can eventually get working. Let me know if anyone has any thoughts please.

Yes I try to be helpful, but I am the same person that you went off on for railing against software piracy. ;D

The XML Marker software is indeed very helpful for finding errors in XML. And it's free so I know you'll like that.

There is also a free tasks plugin that you can install and then insert into your XML home screens. See this thread: http://www.hellomotoq.com/forums/mot...ighlight=tasks

And the Carrier plug-in is rather easy to manipulate. Just replace <carrier/> with whatever text you want. Mine says "Syndil's Q."

NOOOOOOO!!!!!! Don't make me think about that horrible thought. Hopefully if moto or verizon/sprint or whoever decides to be stupid and not release wm6 for the Q, someone will be able to hack it to run on the Q. hopefully...
