I had that same problem too, but I figured out what was wrong.
Once you download the file, you MUST extract the zipped file. You cannot just double click and drag the file on to the Q. So just right click and extract all. Once that is done..open the files and now you can drag the extracted files to your Q. Hope this works.
Ahh.... I didn't know that you were transferring a file from a zipped folder... that could easily be the problem! Thanks for figuring that out for everyone else!
Important question... Does anyone know if it is possible to use mp3/wma clips stored on your mini-sd memory card? I just got a 2gb mini-sd card and wanted to put all my custom ringtones on there. So far, I have not found a way to do so yet. Someone plz tell me there's a way to do this!!
3. Once in that directory tap on the "Directory" string and under the "String" box put in something like this:
If you want to store your rings on an SD or miniSD card: \Storage Card\Rings\
4. Hit OK, then hit Yes to accept the modification of the value.
5. Open up Resco File Explorer and create a folder called Rings to put your mp3s or wavs into.
6. Once your ringtone is copied over, soft reset your Pocket PC Phone and you are good to go!
7. Power cycle your Q.
8. Have someone call you and enjoy keeping your main memory ringtone free.
For some reason this isn't working, but I know it should! Any suggestions?
I started a thread and you have been trying to help me out and i appericate it , here is the link to it if anyone else can shade some light on it, thanx
easy way is to move ur mp3's into your "my document" folder. and then goto sounds and use them as ringtones. very easy, and if you already did the reg edit to move ur "my document" folder on to ur sd card...then u dont have to worry abot space. if you wanna edit sonds, use a freeware program called "wavepad" google it without the "".
I found a good mp3 editing software that lets me edit any mp3 i have on my computer and add it to my Q. The only thing is that you have to export as a WAV file, but no sound quality is sacrificed, but if it is, it is BARELY noticeable.
