Well nice to be the first to pop this cherry... ! Just thought I'd say hello and try and get something started.
I just got my Moto Q today, and I like it. Though I must admit, I prefer my PPC6700! However; seeing as I was attempting to install AUK3.5 on my 6700, and I bricked it I now have to use this little thing. We will see how it goes... I just have to hold out for their next smartphone! Can't wait!
I'm looking at getting one of these little demons within the next week or so...
Everywhere I've looked, it says these phones have no Wi-fi, but on the Qwest website it says that highspeed is available when connected to the data network OR wherever wi-fi is available...?
Eh?
Anyway... I'm really wanting one of these but not if it doesn't have teh wifi
No the Motorola Q does not have any wifi what so ever! Don't take the call center for their word! (Good luck finding <insert name> again). What their talking about is the EVDO network. Here is the $$$ breakdown of that....
$19.99 - 35MB (each additional MB is $3)
$24.99 - 50MB (each additional MB is $3)
$39.99 - 100MB (each additional 5MB is $5)
Most people who just want email for personal email or "light" work email would do fine on the 35MB plan. Just make sure you set your phone to "headers only" when setting up the push!
BTW - 6700 Wifi is not that great! Get a laptop if you want better wifi
The Q can do Telenav!!! and many others!!! Look here to see if your device is supported... TeleNav Supported Device
Sounds like your lucky! The internet on a Sprint for Mobile Email Enhanced phone is $15 if your on a Q (unless your grandafathered, or you have a hacked Samsung).
I'm seeing the Wifi capability advertised on the website, not from a salesperson...
The only real reason I want this phone is because I'm on a family plan and the only phone that sends "real" picture mail is this phone and the 6700...
I'm gonna be getting a laptop in August so I'll be surfing the web on that, I just want this so I can quickly send picture/text messages to my fiance in Japan from my phone...
I currently have the samsung a920 and have unlimited powervision plan for $10/Month and pay $15/Month for unlimited text messaging
When I saw the Q listed with WiFi, I was overjoyed but I guess I'll have to just use it on the Qwest/sprint Data network
I send roughly 10 text messages a day and I hate the limitations of 160 characters... Do you think that I would be able to get away with just using the push services for like gmail, hotmail or the like?
I really like this phone, but can't justify switching if it's gonna cost me more that I'm paying now just to get "real" picture mail
