Thumbs down Okay. Need some help.

Alright,


I have a Motorola Q on Qwest, and naturally after realizing that we have internet connectivity, qwest gets off the phone with me and tells me it's a Microsoft ActiveSync issue.


This is the deal. The internet is functioning, I have my Exchange Server information in their correctly, but it will not sync.


Anyone else have syncing issues with Qwest?

Are you trying to sync remotely or with your Q hooked to your PC? I assume you mean remote sync. If this is the case, and your internet works on the Q, then Qwest is probably right. There are several possible reasons as to why your Q is not syncing.

First, your Exchange Administrator would have to have enabled "remote activesync" on the server. This is a matter of checking a box on the server's setup screen but if the box is not checked, you're out of luck.

Secondly, some Exchange admins only allow webmail access to the Exchange server if you are not on the work network.

Sometimes the Exchange server is only accessable remotely if you have established a VPN connection to your work's network.

Some Exchange servers have a different address to access them when you are outside the work network.

Basically what you need to do is contact your Exchange administrator to ensure that you are using the correct settings. If the internet connection is working on the Q, then Qwest has done their part and can't really help you beyond that.

In ActiveSync on the phone there should be a blue link that says View Status. Follow the link and tell me what the error code is.

Can't download themes

I have a moto q from qwest. I have windows vista and when I try to download the file. it downloads but then it doesn't show up in my documents folder.

is there any other way I can download with vista? where can i find my downloads?

Theme files need to go in \Application Data\Home.

You apply them by pressing Start then Settings. Choose Home Screen. Change the Home screen layout to the name of the theme. Change the Color scheme and the Background image to default.

windows vista isn't downloading it into the computer.

There is no automatic file transfer. Use Windows Mobile Device Center to explore your device.
